Windoze 98/NT/2000 network utility. Provides a GUI front-end to the Windows© CLI (command line interface) tools. Enables one to release and renew DHCP leases, view IP settings, view the routing table, look up IP addresses, view the ARP cache, display NetBIOS sessions, and much more. Under NT and 2000, requires the user to be logged in with sufficient privileges (either as an Administrator, or Power User) to perform many of the configuration changes. The program is a single file that may be placed anywhere in one's path, or a shortcut installed somewhere convenient. Simply launch the program, and click the buttons. The main window provides short explanations of the various tools. Each tool launches in its own window, and more help is available for each. This program calls the built-in tools that are provided with the OS. The intention was to design a friendlier interface for the tools that are so useful to a un*x system administrator, but somewhat foreign to many administrators of NT. Virtually all functionality has been retained, though a very few tasks are still better performed from the CLI. This program is provided with NO WARRANTY WHATSOEVER. Use it at your own risk. If your use of this tool disconnects your computer from the network, then you'd better know how to reconnect yourself, too. This program was written by dave capella, and is offered for free, under the terms of the GNU Public License. I will try to answer all questions received. Feedback is also greatly appreciated. netutil.exe [ 601kb ]: Download Here |
